"Dance is an art form that you can do from nothing. You don't need money or really any props. You really don't even need music"
~ Kelsey Hatcher
For Kelsey Hatcher, to live is to dance.

As a child, she tried every hobby from basketball to gymnastics, but dance was the only one to stick.

Her passion for dance has shifted forms over time, but never left.

She spent most of her young adulthood teaching at Dance Arts of Bowling Green, a beloved staple in the South Central Kentucky dance community. Recently, however, she left the studio for one of her own, and opened Embody Dance this October.

Several notes of encouragement are displayed around Embody Dance.
Hatcher describes herself as the "jack of all trades" around the studio. Whether she's plunging toilets, typing up paperwork or teaching classes, there's always something for her to do.

The studio isn't completely done yet, which leaves renovation work almost daily. The floors aren't finished, the walls need paint, but dancers are in there everyday regardless.

Hatcher's family has been her greatest support system throughout it all. Her husband has moved in every piece of furniture, her kids sweep the floors.
The studio is a work-in-progress, but Bowling Green dancers take the floor every night Monday through Thursday regardless.
Hatcher said her dream is to create a space where children can express themselves, and feel like they get the most out of dance, too.
Dancers look to Hatcher for guidance as she leads them through a routine.
