The project, "Effect," is a student-led and produced multimedia assignment that follows different sectors that were impacted by President Trump's signing of various executive orders earlier in 2025. The examination of public media, Medicaid, farming, and veteran support is the four sections that we dive deeper into; however, we acknowledge that there is a wide range of topics to address.

As we conducted intensive research, filmed various events, photographed dozens of people, and wrote hard-hitting stories, we generated compelling content and discovered how significant an influence these new orders had on the community.

There's no doubt that what's being covered matters now more than ever. As student journalists, it's our responsibility to accurately and effectively report what is happening during this time. The work displayed throughout this website exemplifies how federal legislation is forcing change both on national and local scale. 

While the U.S. continues to face a familiar uncertainty in this political climate, we know that the stories we shared will continue to influence those around us, not only in Bowling Green, Kentucky, but state and nationwide.

We hope to look back at how we covered these complex, constant changes and how we chose to document the genuine impact on the lives of everyday Americans.
